The Jr. Information Analyst will assist in the research of Army, Navy, Air Force, and Coast Guard records containing historical information on individual units within these branches of service, as well as some personnel records, as they relate to claimed Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) stressors and some Agent Orange exposures. Once records are identified they will be reviewed for declassification and/or under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA)/Privacy Act (PA) for release.



• Understand Department of Defense organizational structure and coordinate with the appropriate office(s) for the identification and retrieval of pertinent historical records to assist Veterans

• Analyze unclassified and classified documents to determine the appropriate action needed in accordance with E.O. 13526, the FOIA, and/or the Privacy Act

• Demonstrate understanding of document markings and handling restrictions

• Utilize analytical skills to make determinations on documents for release, referral to other agencies, and exemption under the Freedom of Information Act/Privacy Act

• Recognize both classified and unclassified information which must be protected from release

• Properly handle boxes and documents (boxes can weigh between 15-25 lbs.) and ensure integrity of each and every box remains intact




• Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and/or experience

• Active DoD Top Secret Clearance

• Ability to communicate effectively – both orally and in writing

• Demonstrate strong analytical skills, reading comprehension, and attention to detail

• Ability to multi-task,  work in a team environment, and adjust to established work patterns and processes as required
